All are welcome to join the Clergy of the Diocese as they celebrate the Chrism Mass.
At the Chrism Mass, the Bishop gathers around her all those who exercise various forms of ministry in the Diocese who, with her, renew their commitment to the service of Jesus Christ. The whole people of God join the Bishop in praying for their ministers. The Bishop then blesses the oils that will be used in the care of the sick, at baptisms, and at the ordination of priests this year.
Everyone is welcome to stay after the Chrism Eucharist when the Cathedral will be delighted to be welcoming Canon Dr Jane Williams who will be talking to us about prayer.
Jane Williams, who helped found St Mellitus College and is now the McDonald Professor in Christian Theology, is a Canon of Llandaff cathedral and Prebendary of St Paul's Cathedral. Jane has taught in both university and Theological College settings as well as inspiring, teaching and encouraging people of all ages and backgrounds in local churches and communities. She has travelled extensively within the Anglican Communion, and is an acclaimed speaker, preacher and author. We are so grateful that Jane is coming to help us reflect upon our own experiences of trying to be faithful in prayer. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn together with others in the Diocesan family. Please do consider coming to the Cathedral and being part of this event.
Unfortunately the deadline to sign up for lunch has now passed.
